RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
PRODUCTION OF ACTIVE SUBSTANCES
The R+D and Active Substance Production Department is responsible for developing and optimising the extraction and purification processes of the proteins used in our medicines. Using biotechnology techniques, such as the recombinant DNA technology, proteins (e.g. cytokines) and nucleic acids are produced with stringent standards of quality and purity.
The process of developing and producing cytokines can be divided into 3 major blocks.
Separately, there is another line of research that focuses on the justification and validation of the complex formulas of micro-immunotherapy, which Labo’Life develops with the support of other institutions. Within this line, research activities are launched which seek to confirm, by means of reliable and reproducible experimental data (in vitro and in vivo), the mode of action and the immuno-regulatory effect of the micro-immunotherapy medicines.
